What is the reason for this? Well, you might argue… you don’t have time, or you don’t have the time due to your daily routine. However, I think, and you already know this, that the problem lies elsewhere. That is to transport your bikes to your desired location without making this chore a burden on you.
I am saying this because the Honda CRV has a curved hatch. From what I’ve seen, not all bike racks would be perfect for curved hatches. Some might not fit all that well. Others might leave a scratch and require you to do the necessary repair. We don’t want that, do we?
There is no need to worry. I will never allow that to happen. Not on my watch, my friend.
If you own a bike and a CRV and the unknown mystery of the tree-embraced bike trails calls out to you then continue reading. In this article, I will discuss some of the best bike racks for Honda CRV so that you can transport your bikes safely and securely.
Top Bike Racks for Honda CRV
My dear readers, I know how difficult it can be to search through hundreds of products to find the perfect match. I know it will take you hours, if not days, to find the right product to suit your needs. Good news! I have decided to shoulder the burden for you!

Throughout my selection of bike racks, I have aimed to keep both versatility and practicality in mind. As I had to go through numerous trials and errors just to get my hands on these babies, I hoped that this would help you get out of your boring cityscapes more often. I picked these racks from a variety of categories in the hope that this would make things easier for you.
In my opinion, the process of choosing a bike rack for your CRV becomes more organic and flexible with time. So, without further ado, let’s get started.
1. Allen Sports XR200 2-Bike Platform Hitch Rack
I am going to talk about the first bike rack that we will discuss in this post, which is a platform hitch bike rack from the famous Allen Sports. This bike rack is an absolute joy for any cyclist. It is a 2-bike carrier for a 1 1/4-inch or 2-inch hitch.
There is no doubt that this rack would work with your CRV as long as it meets the measurements of the hitch. This rack does not weigh that much, and it looks great when attached to your car.
Although it is made of strong metal that does not weigh more than 30 pounds, it has a weight capacity of 70 pounds. I guess it was designed to be safe, since it is capable of carrying 35 pounds per bike. Besides a few exceptions, such as e-bikes and mountain bikes (which tend to weigh more), this rack will be able to hold any bike with no issue.
I’m sure you’ve heard that it’s a chore and a time-consuming task to install a bike rack. But, that’s not the case with XR200.
If you are familiar with the use of a wrench, then that is what you need in order to install this rack. You will need some time to get used to it, but once you do, installing this rack will become a passive chore for you.
This Allen Sports XR200 provides your bike with the highest level of security and safety. It has a padded upper frame connector that can be adjusted depending on your bike’s size. The strap connection is compatible with a wide variety of tube sizes and shapes. This connector will ensure your bikes remain safe from unwanted bumps and wobbles.
In addition, the XR200 is equipped with a TPR housing that completely surrounds the buckle so that it will do all it can to keep your bike secure in one place when you are driving the CVR.
If you are wondering if your bikes will fit in this rack, the answer is a resounding yes.
With regard to versatility, the Allen Sports 2-Bike Platform Hitch Rack fits a wide range of bicycles. The wheel trays are wide enough to accommodate up to a 3″ tire width. In addition, it can be adjusted to fit a large range of bicycle sizes.
The XR200 can comfortably accommodate any type of bike, no matter how big or small it may be. I guarantee that you won’t have any problems.
Continuing on, every good bike rack should have flexibility, so that the transport of your bicycle is enjoyable rather than a hassle. In order to accomplish this, the manufacturer included a tilting feature on this rack, so that you can easily access the rear of your car.
Moreover, this bike rack also comes with a clever feature that we find very useful from time to time. This bike rack is tiltable, as well as foldable, so it can further reduce its profile. If you don’t have the time to unhook it, then simply tilt it and fold it up.
As a whole, this is an excellent bike rack. It does what it is supposed to do: it keeps bikes safe and secure, while not breaking mid-way. It is strong, sturdy, and is made to last.
XR200 doesn’t wobble much when you’re driving, so it doesn’t have a negative impact on your driving experience and makes transporting your bike a lot of fun.
2. Tyger Auto TG-RK4B102B Deluxe 4-Bike Rack
In today’s article, we are going to look at a hanging hitch rack designed to hold up to four bikes at a time. The Tyger Auto TG-RK4B102B Deluxe is designed to hold up to four bikes at a time. A family bike trip is no longer a thing of the past.
This heavy-duty “Peach” of a product allows you to transport up to 4 bikes at one time with ease and escape somewhere far with your loved ones when you travel.
Despite the fact that this rack is compatible with all of the types of bikes that we have in our possession, it has good safety features, it is relatively easy to install, and it is flexible in nature as well. There isn’t much wobble in this bike rack and it is built fairly well. With that said, let’s take a closer look at this bike rack in a bit more detail.
Taking a closer look at the construction, I have to say that this is a really sturdy piece. Made from solid steel, I can assure you that it will give you years of reliable service if taken care of properly. The OE black color E-Coating gives it that classic OE look.
In addition to protecting the whole structure from rust, it also creates a classy appearance to the whole rack, making it a great place to transport your bicycles.
In addition, the weight of the TG-RK4B102B is less than the weight of the XR200. To be precise, the TG-RK4B102B weighs approximately 28.2 pounds, while still being able to support 132 pounds more than the XR200.
I mean, our kids’ bikes shouldn’t weigh more than 25 pounds… right? But anyway, this is a nice solution if you want to take the whole family along for the ride. I suggest you take a smaller car so you can be more comfortable.
My initial statement was that this is compatible with almost any bike, and I believe that is still the case today. This rack can fit any type of dual-arm bike on your Honda CRV equipped with either a 1.25 or 2-inch hitch receiver. It is also equipped with “Easy” ratchet buckles, TYGER cable locks, hitch locks, and a security strap. You don’t need to buy anything extra!
There is a tilt-down feature on the Tyger Auto TG-RK4B102B so if the need arises for accessing the rear part of the vehicle in the middle of a trip, you can just tilt it down and you’re ready to go. There is nothing to hold you back, nothing to hinder your progress.
When you were using the Allen Sports XR200, you might remember that it had the ability to be folded when you weren’t carrying bikes. This one has this feature too. You can disassemble the carry arms and it will become a smaller unit when you’re not carrying bikes. It will also save you some space in your garage.
What about the safety of the bikes? Does it keep them safe and secure while you are on the road? The answer to these questions is short and to the point: yes, the TG-RK4B102B does a great job keeping your bikes safe. It keeps them safe and secure while you are on the road.
It comprises soft cradles and a protective pad that won’t feel cheap at all. These plastic parts are designed with the idea of keeping your bikes secured and protecting the frames from any kind of bumps on the road while in transit.
There are only a few bike racks that can hold four bikes at a time, so this is one of the best bike racks for your Honda CRV if you want to take your entire family with you on your next adventure. You won’t find many bike racks that will allow you to take your family with you on your next adventure. It is also made to last and has a ton of cool features that will make the transporting of bikes even more enjoyable.
3. Thule T2 Pro XT/XTR Hitch Bike Rack
This incredible Thule T2 PRO XT bike rack is unique and unique in its own right. It is designed to perform and last. There are numerous features in this rack and it offers incredible performance. Therefore, if you are considering purchasing a hitch-mounted rack for the first time in your life, I urge you to read this article carefully.
This Thule T2 Pro XT bike carrier comes with a built-in locking system and keeps your bikes safe and secure from thieves. It comes with an easy-to-maneuver tilt lever, robust ratcheting arms, and is compatible with anything from those e-bikes to giant fat bikes.
In terms of weight, this hitch bike rack is a platform-style hitch bike rack. Naturally, the T2 Pro XT weighs more. However, that is a good thing. More weight means more durability. Made of alloy, the T2 Pro XT’s frame is rugged. Plastic cradles and smaller parts of the rack are also made of high-quality materials.
Upon deciding to purchase this for a review, my first question was, “How much weight can this really handle?”.
There is a lot of weight that can be carried by this bike rack; it can handle two bikes weighing up to 60 pounds each. That is a lot of weight if you ask me. If you own a massive bike that weighs like a brick, this bike rack will enable you to carry them without having to worry at all.
The platform bike rack is more expensive than the other types of bike racks, so some people tend to sway from using them since they take longer to assemble. It does take some time for you to assemble this piece of utility (roughly 20 to 25 minutes), because it is such a heavy piece of utility. Come on! It isn’t necessary to be so hurried before you embark on a trip, is it? Haste makes waste.
Instead, you should concentrate on setting it and over time, you will become faster and faster. After all, they’re such a lot of fun and easy to use, plus it’s so easy to mount or unmount the bikes, thanks to the ratcheting arms that make mounting and unmounting such a breeze.
If your Honda CRV has a 2-inch receiver model on the hitch, you should have no problem towing a two-wheeler. Also, the Thule T2 Pro XT has cradles that can fit tires that are up to five inches wide and can be attached without any adapters.
There’s no need to worry about fitting your bikes on your rack once again. Assemble your rack, mount your bikes on it, and you’re good to go!
Lastly, I would like to point out that one of my favorite features of this rack is its tilt system. It is equipped with a 24″ cable lock for securing the bike to the rack. You do not have to purchase any extra cables for this matter.
There is a piece of hardware called the HitchSwitch Lever that is adjustable all the way around and literally takes the minimum effort to tilt the whole rack. Kudos to the team that designed this!
I would like to describe this bike rack in a few words, as it has the qualities that you would need in a bike rack for your Honda CRV. It has a solid structure that is accompanied with several useful features. In simple words, this rack is designed to make the life of an avid cyclist a lot easier.
4. Saris Bones EX Trunk Mount Bike Rack
Until now, I have been talking mostly about platform hitch-mounted and hanging hitch-mounted bike racks for Honda CRVs. This time, we’ll take a look at something different…something fresh…on my list of best bike racks for Honda CRVs.
We don’t worry, as this bike rack fits almost any vehicle, including your Honda CRV. It’s so well designed that it literally makes no contact with your vehicle. They are also very easy to use and also have a clean, sleek look. You can purchase this bike rack in one or two bike versions, and it really does look good.
So, let’s dig around a bit more and see what this trunk bike rack from Saris Bone has to offer and see if it lives up to the hype…
In all honesty, the rack is quite light. It weighs only 12.23 pounds – yes, that’s right. Although it is lightweight, it works like a charm. It is highly portable, so you can use it on any vehicle. If your Honda CRV does not come with a hitch, then you can definitely count on this rack.
There are also a lot of cyclists who do not like to take chances with hanging, platform, or wall racks. No matter what it says on the brochure, they don’t like to risk their bikes getting damaged or swayed by their racks.
It should be noted that the Saris Bones EX Trunk Bike Rack Carrier is made with anti-sway cradles that eliminate that problem completely. Furthermore, you get more space between the bikes than you would with a hanging rack.
In addition, there is a pretty decent weight capacity, as well. The Saris Bones EX can carry three bikes, each weighing up to 35 pounds. So, yes… this bad boy can carry some pretty heavy bikes as well as standard family bikes.
I think the new premium bike hold-downs that They have come up with are a pretty impressive item if you ask me. It makes sure your bike’s frames will be protected from any scratches during travel. For greater security, there is a ratchet clasp that further reassures your bike’s security.
It has never been easier to mount bikes on bike racks. With many bike carriers, you have to put a great deal of effort into the process; however, with the Saris Bones Ex, it is super simple. You only have to remove the pedals and place some pipe lagging around the frame of your bike to prevent any contact.
However, there are some drawbacks to a trunk bike rack, such as the fact that it will prevent you from being able to access the rear portion of the vehicle. Sure, you could fold it, but still, you will not be able to access your Honda CRV’s rear. Bummer, I know.
By folding Saris Bone’s arms, you can save a lot of space in your vehicle. Furthermore, they have a cool mechanism for folding down and they can move independently as well. Of course, this is an advantage if you tend to take short trips and won’t need to access your trunk very often.
There are a lot of reasons to hang a bike rack on your trunk, but the Saris Bones EX Trunk Bike Rack is one of the best options. It is made of durable injection molded plastic, which is guaranteed for life, and its rubber feet won’t scratch your CRV.
In spite of the fact that it does not have a built-in locking mechanism, I would still say that it is very capable of transporting your bicycles from place to place despite the absence of a locking system.
5. YAKIMA – FrontLoader Wheel-On Mount Upright Roof Bike Rack
As the last bike rack on our list for Honda CRV, this one is made by YAKIMA. This is a rooftop bike rack that will save you the trouble of removing the front wheel of your bike from the bike. If you want, you can mount it entirely on the roof and only the wheels and tires of your bike will come into contact with it.
As a result of this particular design, it can be used with any type of bike, regardless of the axle standard, which is quite useful. In addition to looking cool, it is quite easy to maneuver. However, one of the disadvantages of using this carrier is that when mounting your bikes on it, you need to stretch a bit since it is fairly high compared to a fork mount rack.
It weighs just under 20 pounds and gracefully sits on top of your CRV. This rack is well designed and it feels very strong too. The rack is entirely made of carbon fiber, which means durability should not be an issue with it at all. Even though there are a lot of plastic parts in the rack just like any other good bike rack, they won’t feel cheap.
One thing that I’m going to tell you right now is that this rack comes fully assembled. You’ll have to just place the rack on your CRV and then attach the crossbars to the rack. Yes, it’s literally that simple. One thing that irked me though is the lack of a built-in security system.
In order to secure the rack and use the cable lock that is included, you would need to separately buy the lock cores from Yakima. The only advantage of this locking system is that it only needs to be done once. It takes under five minutes to complete the task.
A little bit of a flaw in the FrontLoader of YAKIMA when it comes to versatility. It is true that it can house almost any type of crossbar, and the axle type of the bike is not an issue, but it is limited by the size of the tires, for instance. A tire that is more than 3 inches in width can’t be clamped in the front tire clamps.
If you have those big mountain bikes that have fat tires on them, you will have to look somewhere else to store them on your vehicle. You can pick any of the four bike racks that I mentioned above. They are more than capable of carrying those bikes that have fat tires on them.
I would like to focus on its bright side for now and it has many of them. For example, to install it… you do not need any tools. The mechanism is quite simple and straightforward. The front clamp on the rack simply needs to be turned and it will move smoothly around the crossbar with one turn of the large hand knob at the front end of the rack.
This rack from YAKIMA is built to last, so you won’t have to worry about it breaking down as long as you take care of it. Even with this slight compatibility issue, there is a lot to like about the rack.
Due to the fact that the rack only touches the tires, the bike’s frame will remain undamaged and unaffected by the rack. Because the rack will firmly hold the bikes in place, you don’t have to worry about any damage to the bike.
Which is going to be the most ideal bike rack for Honda CRV for people who are in a hurry?
Basically, here you will find bike racks of different kinds for Honda CRV. The reason I selected these bike racks here for you is to give you more options to choose from. I have included two platform-style racks from two different manufacturers. One is from Thule and the other is from Allen Sports.
The other three racks are a rooftop rack from YAKIMA, a trunk rack from Saris Bones EX Trunk Bike Rack, and a hanging rack from Saris Bones EX Hanging Rack. And apart from the rooftop rack and the trunk rack from YAKIMA, your Honda CRV should have a 1.25 or 2-inch hitch to work with the hanging or platform racks.
I would recommend using the Saris Bones if you do not want to go through the trouble of installing a hitch, but there is a catch, Saris Bones require a lot of time and effort to set up each and every time you want to go on a trip.

Furthermore, there is no access to the back cargo which means that as soon as you install it, you can forget about accessing it.
It is true that even without the bikes mounted, your rearview will be almost completely blocked. However, if you do not drive long distances that often, you might want to give it a go. It is a sturdy vehicle and there is no compatibility issue.
As we turn our attention to YAKIMA now, this rooftop rack is perfect for Honda CVRs. There are, however, only two things I would point out about it. One is the height. Some people might find it rather awkward trying to get their bikes over their roofs.
It is also very important that you keep in mind that if you own mountain bikes or bikes with wheels that are wider than 3 inches, you will be unable to mount them on this rack. However, if you have standard bikes, regardless of the axle type, you can use this rack without any problem.
When it comes to the other three bike racks, my personal favorite is the Thule T2 Pro. Why should you consider buying it? Well, for one thing, how about the fact that it is one of the toughest and most secure bike racks on the market right now? However, if you want to buy one once, you can bet your money on it for sure.
XR200 from Allen Sports can be used to carry two bikes only. However, it is a pretty decent bike rack as well. Just like Thule T2 Pro, it features a solid build and well-respected compatibility. It goes perfectly with a CVR, so for those who typically carry two bikes only and don’t want to spend a lot of money, this can be a great option.
There is no doubt that the Thule T2 Pro is the better option if you want more performance and safety for both your car and your bike; however, if you want to carry four bikes at the same time, you should consider purchasing the additional add-on.
Here are my final two cents on the matter
When it comes to cycling, a good bike rack can really make our lives a lot easier, especially if you love it. You simply can’t live without a bike rack, even if you’re a seasonal biker like many of us out there. In addition to removing a lot of worrying impediments from the equation, you will also be motivated to go out more often with it.
Investing in a good bike rack is nothing less than getting yourself a good companion. If you take care of it properly, it will last much longer than you expect. Just make sure that you choose one carefully. If you choose one carefully, then you should only have to spend once.
If you do not want to go through the process of installing a hitch on your Honda CVR, there is no problem at all.
The rooftop rack from YAKIMA or the Saris Bones EX Trunk bike rack are both good choices. Just make sure you are aware of their little shortcomings, and if you think you will be okay, give them a shot. Both of them are quite good products.
Aside from this, there is no other bike rack that even comes close to Thurle T2 Pro XT in terms of its features and performance. If you are not concerned about your budget, this is the very best bike rack for Honda CRV that you should consider. Allen Sports 2-Bike Platform rack is available if your mind says so.
Overall, all of these bike racks come from well-reputed companies that have been providing bike lovers with services for years all over the world. They all have their own specialties, and they all come from well-known brands.
